Overview and Principles
HOPE worldwide (Thailand) has established a Computer Training Center at the Kredtrakarn Protection and Occupational Development Center (Kredtrakan Home) in Nonthaburi Province, a governmental rehabilitation center for young wo men under 18 years of age who suffer from various types of social problems. This is in accordance with the Prevention and Suppression of the Prostitution Act of 1999. There are 348 women at Kredtrakarn Home that are obligated to remain for two years before they are released.
HOPE worldwide (Thailand) sets up a Computer Training Center in Kredtrakan Home. This program creates an opportunity for the underprivileged women to learn computer skills. HOPE establishes two classes of computer training course in basic principles of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) using a curriculum from Microsoft’s Unlimited Potential Program. Each class accommodates 15 students. An average course duration is 20 hours. After completion of the course, each student receives an official certification from Microsoft Thailand, which is useful for job application.
Program Objectives
- To teach basic computer skills to young women from Kredtrakan Home
- To provide a greater opportunity for young women in job application after they release from Kredtrakan Home.
Program Schedule
Morning session – every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30 – 11:30
Afternoon session – every Tuesday and Thursday at 13:00 – 16:00
